Before I start, I want to suggest you to use self-hosted WordPress for your blog. You can also read why to use WordPress for your blog. WordPress is better and offers you control over your blog. If you still want to go with Blogger, I recommend you to use the custom domain name for you blog to make more professional and getter revenue options.

How to set up custom domain for blogger

First of all you need to buy a domain name. You can select GoDaddy or Bigrock for this. These are two domain services that I personally use for my domain name purchase and also recommend others. Once the domain name registration process is complete, you will have an account from where you can manage your domain and other settings associated with your domain.

Now login to your blogger account and select the blog for which you want to add the domain. In settings -> Basic you will see a section “Publishing.” Here you can add a 3rd party URL for your blog.

Now it will show you a place to add your own domain name. Write your name along with www. It will not accept domains without www. For ex: I added www.webtipsdemo.in domain. After adding the domain, it will show you few records to add in DNS settings of your domain.

Now login to your domain management account created while domain name registration. Now, you need to add Cname records and A records.

This part depends on the domain registrar because the front end is not the same for all. So, find from where you can add CNAME records and A records. And create CNAME records.

www                                                                        ghs.google.com

Now you have to create ‘A’ NAME records for your naked domain i.e domain.com (without www). Create four  ‘A’ NAME records with your naked domain with the following address.

216.239.32.21
216.239.34.21
216.239.36.21
216.239.38.21
