Most popular blogging CMS, WordPress is now 10 years old. Initially started as a fork of the little-known blogging platform b2/Cafelog, Now it is known as WordPress. It is now powering 18% of web. More than 70 million websites on the Internet are running on WordPress.

There are so many popular blogs use WordPress. The list of those popular blog includes, The New York Time, CNN, Reuters, Techcrunch, Mashable and Digital Inspiration. I personally use WordPress for my blogs.

WordPress is an opensource software started by Matt Mullenweg and Mike Little. It is built on PHP and MySQL. Main reason behind the popularity of WordPress is that it is free and most of the themes and plugins for WordPress are free. Most of the Web hosts supports one click WordPress installation so users does not need to worry of technical complexities.

Although, WordPress is popular as blogging CMS, it can be used for creating any kind of website. WordPress can be used to create shopping card systems, news portals, real estate websites and social networking websites. So many themes are plugins are available to enhance the functionality of WordPress.

In India, you can easily find young bloggers earning part-time and full-time Income with WordPress. If we talk about blogging, it finally reaches to WordPress. People either start blog on blogger and then move o WordPress or directly select WordPress as blogging platform.
